At the @camarilloweddingexpo , romance bloomed with this dreamy garden-inspired tablescape, designed and styled by one of our very own planners, Kalen. A cheer mom at heart, she brought her signature touch—silk napkins tied into the sweetest bows (because bows make everything better!).

The soft natural jute linen, whitewashed rattan chargers, and crystal-clear taper holders set the stage for @b_besame florals’ stunning white and blue arrangements. And even in the rain, @lucidcandle stayed beautifully lit—talk about wedding day magic!

Guests couldn’t get enough—snapping pics, saving inspiration, and falling in love with this elegant yet enchanting design. ✨

2️⃣ Fake rose petals: Most venues don’t allow them (including us!) and someone has to clean them up. Nope. 🚫
3️⃣ Balloon arches for florals: Real flowers = heavy. These flimsy arches will collapse. We’ve seen it happen! 😬
4️⃣ No assigned seating: Chaos. Mismatched seats, separated couples, and wasted time. Don’t do it. 💔
5️⃣ Short votive candles outdoors: The wind will blow them out. Every. Single. Time. 🌬️🔥

2. Why is it important for a venue in the non-coastal parts of Ventura County and outside city boundaries to have one?

3. How does this apply to you if you are planning a wedding in the non-coastal area and outside any city jurisdiction in Ventura County?
🤓🤓🤓

1. It represents the fact that a venue has met all the conditions from the County to operate as a venue with a Conditional Use Permit, or CUP. The conditions include important things, such as safety measures and the commitment to abide in a myriad of ways to operate that are respectful to the surrounding community.

2. A non-permitted venue is allowed to have no more than 5 larger events (over 75 guests) per year and are not allowed to be compensated for the use of the venue. (That means they can’t charge you for.)

3. We post this in the hope that you will be able to protect yourself from being one of the couples who is contacted out of the blue by their venue, informing you they are immediately shutting down the venue you have been planing an event for.

What most likely happened, is that Ventura County Code Compliance required the venue to close until the venue is able to complete and approve a CUP through the County Planning Department. This generally takes a minimum of 24 months, but could take much longer, or not even be viable option, if neighbors have already been suffering from the noise, traffic, and safety issues created when a venue is opened without a permit. Code Compliance let us know back in March they had located 60 un-permitted venues.

1. It represents the fact that a venue has met all the conditions from the County to operate as a venue with a Conditional Use Permit, or CUP. The conditions include important things, such as safety measures and the commitment to abide in a myriad of ways to operate that are respectful to the surrounding community.

2. A non-permitted venue is allowed to have no more than 5 larger events (over 75 guests) per year and are not allowed to be compensated for the use of the venue. (That means they can’t charge you for.)

3. We post this in the hope that you will be able to protect yourself from being one of the couples who is contacted out of the blue by their venue, informing you they are immediately shutting down the venue you have been planing an event for.
